Goal is to help individuals with mental illnesses, like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression. And because these conditions may be accompanied by substance abuse, multiple interventions are often used for total success. ABC is a Specialty Provider Network. They serve the NorthSTAR area.

Assist individuals in accessing the healthcare, resources and support necessary to successfully manage the challenges of living with HIV/AIDS. AIDS Arms is defined by the people they serve through their own programs and a network of 85+ affiliated agencies. Clients come from all walks of life and include men, women, children and teenagers. To become an AIDS Arms client, a person must have an HIV+ diagnosis and live in one of the Dallas service delivery area counties. Eligible individuals can call for an initial intake appointment to begin services.

Multicultural organization dedicated to meeting practical, emotional and spiritual needs of men, women, children, and youth who are living with HIV/AIDS; and to helping stop the spread of HIV though prevention programs. Services are provided free of charge to clients and communities. Programs include HIV Education; Prevention Case Management; Outreach; Spanish Language Interpretation/Translation Programs; Case Management; Transportation Services; and Volunteer Services.

Al-Anon / Alateen Information Service
To help families and friends of alcoholics recover from the effects of living with the problem drinking of a relative or friend. Similarly, Alateen is our recovery program for young people. Alateen groups are sponsored by Al-Anon members. Our program of recovery is adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous and is based upon the Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, and Twelve Concepts of Service. Membership is free and anonymous.

Cenikor Foundation, Inc.
A long-term, residential therapeutic community that helps people end the cycle of substance abuse. Cenikor gives individuals a way to create an addiction-free future and regain their self worth. Cenikor works for those who are truly serious about changing their lives. The Recovery program lasts 18-24 months and there isn't a fee for the program. It is not an easy path and it is not for everyone. But for men and women, 18 years of age and older, who truly want to change, it works.

Center for Interventions, Treatment, & Addictions Research (CESAR)
CESAR at the University of Maryland at College Park, is dedicated to addressing the problems substance abuse creates for individuals, families, and communities. Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT)
